Wellbeing apps and online programmes

SilverCloud

SilverCloud Health – a leading digital mental health company is offering all NHS staff across mid and south Essex access to its online programmes to help ease your levels of stress, sleep better or to build resilience. All three programmes offer self-help guidance and are confidential and secure.

To gain instant access, sign up at SilverCloud and when prompted enter access code: ESSEX2020.

Headspace

Headspace is a science-backed app in mindfulness and meditation, providing unique tools and resources to help reduce stress, build resilience, and aid better sleep. They are offering free access to all NHS staff with an NHS email address until 31 December, active now.

Go to the headspace website for NHS staff to access, with the option to select clinical or non- clinical staff to start enrolling. Use your NHS email address to sign up.

Daylight

Daylight is a smartphone-based app that provides help to people experiencing symptoms of worry and anxiety, using evidence-based cognitive behavioural techniques, voice and animation. Free access to Daylight is active now until 31 December.

To sign up, visit the Daylight website and answer a few short questions to tailor the programme to you.

You can also download the Daylight smartphone app (search ‘Daylight - Worry Less’, available on both iPhone and Android).

Sleepio

Sleepio is a clinically-evidenced sleep improvement programme that is fully automated and highly personalised, using cognitive behavioural techniques to help improve poor sleep. Free access to Sleepio for all NHS staff is active now until 31 December.

Visit Sleepio on your laptop or desktop computer. Enter redeem code NHS2020 and set up an account using your name and email address and complete the sleep test.

Unmind

Unmind is a mental health platform that empowers staff to proactively improve their mental wellbeing. Using scientifically-backed assessments, tools and training you can measure and manage your personal mental health needs, including digital programmes designed to help with stress, sleep, coping, connection, fulfilment and nutrition.

They are offering free access to NHS staff until the end of December 2020, active now.

Go to Unmind and sign up with your NHS email address.

Download the Unmind app from your app store – your organisation name is NHS.

Project5

Project5 is an online booking system which gives NHS staff access to free one-to-one support from a team of volunteer coaches and mental health practitioners. So far, over 4,000 such volunteers have registered meaning that we can potentially support thousands of healthcare workers every month.

Our volunteers are split into two groups (Tiers):

  • Coaching Tier: coaches, psychologists and medics with coaching training
  • Mental Health Practitioner Tier: Psychologists, Therapists, Psychotherapists, Mental Health nurses.

​All volunteers are professionally registered, insured and appropriately qualified. All volunteers receive supervision and guidance in how to best support NHS staff at this time.
