World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD): 10 September 2021
Partners from across Essex will be observing World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) on 10 September. A new website will launch as part of a #LetsTalkSuicideEssex campaign. The website offers free online suicide prevention training and useful information about where to get help. It has been created by the Mid and South Essex Health and Care Partnership and Thurrock and Brentwood Mind, to reduce the stigma around talking about suicide and raise awareness of suicide prevention training available FREE to ALL from the Zero Suicide Alliance at https://letstalkaboutsuicideessex.co.uk.
Anyone can take the training which takes about 20-30 minutes to complete, and will give someone the knowledge about:
• How to identify the signs of when someone might be suffering from suicidal thoughts and behaviour.
• The tools to feel more comfortable speaking out about suicide
• The relevant information on how to signpost anyone suffering to the correct services and support.
This is open to everyone including staff and patients, all they need to do is click on the link and follow the online training guide.
This project has been made possible through the Wave Three Suicide Prevention funding, which was set out in the NHS long term plan.
